Gutshot

Story about a man who has been shot in the gut and left to die. He tells in his words how he feels and how he wishes things had been different in his life. Filled with flashbacks of him growing up on a farm and how his daddy mistreated him, Remembering his young wife who was shot and killed by the Indians attacking their home. His traveling from town to town trying very hard to find some kind of happiness. Falling in with the wrong crowd and winding up running with a burch of killers and outlaws. How he met a young woman, fell in love. Tried to quit the outlaws but the leader would have none of it. He shot and killed the leader in a gunfight. The rest of the gang looks to him to replace the dead leader. He trys to explain to them he is through traveling the outlaw trail, but they won't listen. He take off running trying to escape the same fate of the dead leader. The second in command has vowed to hunt him down and kill him. He returns to his girlfriend's hometown and trys to settle down. He changes his name, and they marry and settle on a small farm a few miles out of town.
