Gil finds Flint's most prized possession: Einstein's moustache. When he starts wearing it, Shelbourne takes him for a fellow principal, and they bond. Meanwhile, Flint does everything he can to get his moustache back. // When Flint's inventing makes the power bill skyrocket, Tim takes the Lockwood house off the grid. While Tim teaches Sam how to live without electricity, Flint desperately tries to come up with a power source of his own.

When the new element proves popular with the townspeople, Flint does whatever he can to reclaim the credit. // Sam receives a pet penguin from her Pet of the Month Club, unaware of Swallow Falls' long and terrible history with the aquatic bird. Thanks to one of Flint's inventions, the penguin problem quickly spirals out of control.

To make things right, Flint tries to help Shelbourne learn how to succeed at the game. // When Flint totals Tim's boat, he uses a ray to make his dad forget about the crash-and ends up erasing all of Tim's memories of Flint as his son. Flint tries to restore Tim's memories, but ends up transferring them to the other dads in town.

Flint invents a machine to bring Sam's imaginary friend, Patootie, into the real world, but Patootie's possessiveness is more than Flint can handle. Sam, meanwhile, is oblivious to the friction between her two best friends. // Flint realizes that all of the world's great inventors have large hands, so he invents a way to supersize his own mitts. However, the glory of his new hands soon goes to his head.

When the town turns against her, Sam tries to make things right by teaching a reluctant Brent how to predict the weather for real. // When Flint creates an invention to make Earl believe his son, Cal, can talk, Earl goes overboard showing off his genius baby. Flint feels guilty, but can't help continuing to fake answers every time Earl asks his son a question.

When Mayor Shelbourne incorrectly believes Flint's invention has made him invisible, he lives out his dream and goes on a tear through the town. Gil, wanting his father to be happy, pays off the townspeople to pretend the mayor is actually invisible. // Desperate to make science interesting to his peers, Flint creates the superhero alter ego "Major Science." When Mayor Shelbourne gets wind of the popular new superhero, he devises a way to oppose him.
