The Perils of Pauline

Fun loving Pearl White, (played by Betty Hutton) working in a garment shop, gets her big chance when she "opens" for a delayed Shakespeare play with a comedy act. Her brief stage career leads her into the "new" moving pictures, where she comes to love the world of silent films, becoming queen of the movie serials. But the consequences of movie stardom are more than her leading man can take.
