Over a span of twenty years, 16th-century Portuguese explorer Fernao Mendes Pinto traveled the continent of Asia as a soldier, merchant, diplomat, pirate, and missionary. Adapted from his historic memoirs and featuring songs from folk musician Fausto Bordalo Dias, this newly remastered sea-faring epic was Portugal's Official Entry for Best Foreign Language Film at the 91st Academy Awards.
