Ogboju Odẹ Ninu Igbo Irunmalẹ

The Hunter's Eye in the Forest of Irunmwe is a novel written by DO Fagunwa in 1938. It is the first novel written in the Yoruba language and one of the first novels written in an African language . It tells the story of a brave hunter named Akaraogun , and his various adventures in the forest. He is haunted by magic , ghosts, spirits, and various gods in the forest that the author calls the forest of Irunmwe. It is a collection of four novels written in the Yoruba language . The next novel by the same author is Ígbó Olodumare . Professor Wólé Sóyinká translated Ógbójú Ódê in Igbo Olodumare into English. Like Igbo Olodumare , it was adapted for the stage, in both English and Yoruba.
