In the vein of Jennifer Egan and Elizabeth Strout, “You Know Who I Am” chronicles the life of one family over the course of one year, 1995, through monthly stories, anchored by the anticipation and arrival of a child. Intersecting narratives involve divorce and dating later in life, the marvels and perils of pregnancy, the humor and challenges of life with a newborn and life with an ailing spouse, grief and reconciliation, and the wonder, terror, frustration, fear, and utter magic of brushing up against the unknowable, both around us and within us.
